Company meetings in Umbria

An important time for getting to know each other and sharing ideas, company meetings still rank as among the most valid options open to anyone seeking greater contact and communication between organisers and participants.

There are two main kinds of meetings:
- Company meetings
- Job meetings

As implied by its name, the company meeting is an event within a single firm or company, organised with the aim of consolidating relations – both inside and out of the normal working context – between the management and the work force. These occasions transmit a strong sense of
belonging to the organisation.
Job meeting is a term usually used to indicate a day in which university students or graduates learn more about the labour market or a particular job context by meeting with company managers, representatives or people running training programmes. Participants in a job meeting aim to access a direct information source and develop their knowledge of a given management sector.

To ensure that meetings are a success it is of paramount importance to choose the right location and the best possible formula – a combination of meeting both the goals and pockets of the organisers.
In recent years Umbria has become increasingly competitive in this sector, with a broad range of locations and structures to choose from spread throughout the region’s major cities and in prestigious country venues. Most of these are in and around the regional capital, Perugia, which
boasts two universities, one founded in 1308 and the other the internationally known Università per Stranieri d’Italia.

As a people, the Umbrians are known for their sense of hospitality, discretion, culture and tolerance – all qualities that make this small region in Central Italy a favourite destination both for tourists and businessmen. Below we have listed a selection of the region’s most significant structures, ideal for organising company meetings, job meetings and training courses:

Sangallo Palace Hotel****. Right in the old town centre of Perugia, not far from the Rocca Paolina, the Sangallo Palace is easily accessible by several bus lines that serve the centre of town. In 2006 it was awarded the “Ospitalità Italiana” prize. It has a conference centre suitable for organising debates, meetings and conferences, as well as seven modular spaces fitted with up to date equipment for a total capacity of 250. Among its other services, the Sangallo also offers post-meeting organisation, gala events, shows and excursions.

Best Western Golf Hotel Quattrotorri****. In Perugia, the Best Western Golf Hotel is ideally located to reach all of Umbria’s major towns and sights, as well as being easily accessible from the main highway that runs below the city. All guests throughout the hotel have free Wi-Fi Internet access. In terms of facilities, the hotel has a conference centre with 22 meeting rooms for a total capacity of 1500. There is also an indoor restaurant and a
fitness centre. Its proximity to the Perugina chocolate factory means that it is easily possible to organise visits and tasting sessions for guests.

Castello di Rosciano. Close to Perugia, this castle surrounded by established grounds lets meeting rooms for events in a former patrician residence adjacent to the main structure.
There are a total of three meeting and conference rooms, for a maximum capacity of 300 people. The main hall of the castle itself is equipped to function as an exclusive banqueting centre, complete with qualified staff and kitchens. Surrounded by gardens and manicured lawns, the Castello di Rosciano is also able to offer outdoor events. Participants and organisers can stay in the castle itself, in the rooms and attics of the adjacent villa or in
apartments in a nearby farmhouse residence also under the same ownership.

Park Hotel ai Cappuccini. In a converted monastery at Gubbio, this structure offers a new and valid alternative for those in search of somewhere to organise meetings and events.
There are a total of 12 conference rooms with capacities ranging from 6 to 450 people, all sensitively restored. The four main rooms are the Sala Capogrossi (the most exclusive), the Sala Tavole Eugubine (the most beautiful), the Sala Europa (the largest) and the Sala Verette (generally used as a support for the Sala Europa). The other smaller rooms are suitable for workshops or smaller meetings and are all furnished with a central desk, direct
telephone line, air conditioning and technical equipment on request.

Dal Moro Gallery Hotel****. At Santa Maria degli Angeli, Assisi, the Dal Moro Gallery Hotel is a prestigious location for meetings of company conferences, with its spaces designed as exhibition areas particularly suited for events related to fashion, art, music, design, architecture, food and wine. The meeting rooms have a capacity of 100 and are equipped with sound system and video projections. The hotel’s design restaurant can cater
both for buffet and seated events as well as coffee breaks, working lunches and dinners. Its two, bright rooms can seat 120 people each, with additional seating in a number of more
intimate side rooms. Conference participants and guests will be able to enjoy the hotel’s sunny rooms, all with a contemporary design decoration, private bathroom, either bathtub or shower and some with Jacuzzi and sauna.

Hotel Bramante****. A meeting and conference centre right in the heart of Umbria, the Hotel Bramante – just over half a kilometre from the old town centre of Todi – is able to cater for just about any event. The structure has four, fully equipped meeting rooms, for gatherings from 10 up to 300 people. The main conference room is modular and can be divided into independent smaller spaces. Both the hotel’s restaurants are furnished with antiques and old master paintings and are perfect for working lunches or dinners as well as refreshments and receptions. The chef and the kitchens can also cater for coffee breaks, with
specialities including traditional menus derived from ancient Etruscan and Medieval recipes.

San Pietro Sopra le Acque. This period residence near Massa Martana offers easy and quick access to major sights in Central Italy, from Perugia to Assisi, Orvieto, Spoleto and even Rome and Florence. works that have qualified it as one of the finest examples of a contemporary conversion of an original 13th century building. The Palazzo del Popolo can host up to 450 people in halls that are both equipped to the highest modern conferencing standards whilst retaining their original allure. The main rooms are the Sala dei 400 and the Sala Expò – able to host meetings and work commissions. Other spaces include a speakers room, a press room,
